A ship like that is basically a skyscraper, the effect of gravity being replaced with the thrust form the engines. A static structure can be different as the lateral forces are predictable, but with a warship you don't know which angle its coming from, manoeuvres will create new centripetal forces as it turns ect. It needs to be balanced in a manner that engines can transfer thrust in an efficient manner without destroying the ship, and necessitation an economical usage of materials. lol, have you looked at the gallente ships?
